Cockspur Lighthouse Kayak Tour

The Cockspur Lighthouse / Dolphin Bay Kayak Tour is our most famous kayak tour and definitely an experience you do not want to miss.  This is a must do while visiting Tybee Island.  Paddle with our experienced tour guides through Lazaretto Creek into Dolphin Bay, where Tybee’s dolphins play.   Spectacular views emerge just beyond the tips of the salt marsh grass.  Paddle over to Cockspur Island, nestled in the middle of the bay.  Discover the Island’s history, as the lighthouse stands tall, just waiting to tell stories of those that experienced its amazing course.  We call Cockspur Lighthouse the Lucky Lighthouse;  once you will visit the Lighthouse, you will understand why we gave it that name.

While paddling, enjoy the scenic view of the bay,  where you can see Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Daufuskie Island, South Carolina;  as well as other barrier islands.  Relax and enjoy, as our Activity Coordinators share the rich history of the area and explain our unique Eco system.

No experience required: recommended for all ages and skill levels.  The tour is 1 1/2 hours.

Please no flip flops on this tour. Please wear closed toe shoes or old shoes that can get wet. (old sneakers, water shoes, any shoe that covers your foot, etc). Your feet will get wet. Check online availability or call office for tour times

Join our guide on a fun tour to Little Tybee Island, an uninhabited Island south of Tybee Island.  Paddle on a memorable trip for all,  from the first time kayakers to the most experienced kayakers.  The salt marsh estuaries have an abundance of marine and bird life which you may encounter.  Look out for ospreys, sea birds, loggerhead turtles, brown pelicans and our famous bottlenose dolphins.  Once you have reached Little Tybee Island, enjoy the beach of this uninhabited island; comb the beach for beautiful seashells and learn how some of coastal Georgia barrier island are formed.  Its is a great expedition tour for couples, families with smaller children or for large groups to enjoy the unspoiled island.  Here is a chance to appreciate one of nature’s most beautiful islands.  This is one of the most popular tours in the Southeast.

(High Tide) Drift Wood Beach Kayak Tour

The Drift Wood Beach Tour is especially designed for high tide and on this tour: you paddle the wonderful estuary of the creek with the protected marsh grass of Lazarreto Creek.  See Dolphin Bay at its fullness on this tour.  Prepare yourself for more paddling on this tour, than the other tours but it is loaded with fun and excitement.

Enjoy the Bay at its highest peak literally.  You will paddle as the tides ebb and flow.  View the famous Cockspur Lighthouse surrounded by water as it stands alone in the middle of the bay.  Now imagine. kayaking to see the historic site of Battery Park where cannon artillery were first ever used in battle.  The next stop you paddle down to Drift Wood Beach and then it is time for some great shell collecting.  From this amazing beach,  you look across the bay at some of the other surrounding Islands.   As we make our way back home paddling past the historic fleet of shrimp boats,   don’t be surprised if a few of our friendly dolphins and brown pelicans stop bye to say hello!!!
