FAQ / REQUIREMENTS 

Requirements

Must be a minimum of 17 years of age to drive, 18 years of age to rent and age 5 & up may be a passenger. All drivers are required to have a valid photo government issued ID with picture & birth date.  All drivers are required to watch a safety video and recieve safety training before departure.  All passenger must ride behind driver, Yes — this includes young kids.

Operator’s Safety Information

You must be able to Communicate Effectively with the Guide to operate the Jet Ski for Safety Reasons.

You will receive Safety Instructions on how to operate the Jet Ski and you must demonstrate that you understand the Safety Instructions.

The Guide must be able to Communicate with you to ensure you understood the Safety Instructions.  You must demonstrate that you can apply the Safety Instructions when asked to demonstrate Safety Procedures or other actions that are necessary for your Safety when needed.

 The Guide will determine if the Communication is sufficient.

You May Participate but Not operate the Jet Ski for Safety Reasons if Guide cannot communicate with you effectively.

Safety is the Paramount concern for all customers.

Zero tolerance for drug or alcohol for all participants. This means anyone who is under the influence of DRUGS, Marijuana or ALCOHOL, or SUSPECTED OR BELIEVED to be under the influence of  DRUGS Marijuana or ALCOHOL will not be allowed to participate and no refund will be given for scheduled activity.

Valid government ID with picture & birth date required for all drivers.

Safety weight:  No individual can exceed 275 lbs.  This applies to both a single rider or double rider, again no one can exceed the safety weight of 275 lbs a person. A double/tandem jet ski cannot exceed a combined weight of  400 lbs for both rider ( two person on one Jet Ski).  All riders must be able to re-board jet ski without assistance. 

There is no coming in & out from the ride zone.  However, you may switch drivers on the same ski on the water, if you are eligible to drive.  No switching from one jet ski to another jet ski due to the State Law 100 feet rule.

Requirements/Rules:

  • Lessor (s) participant is/are responsible for any and all damages, repairs. lost of service and labor costs.
  • All lessor(s), participant and passengers must sign a rental agreement, release of liability, and waiver forms. Tybee Jet Ski & Watersports reserve the right to deny service to persons not qualified or experienced enough for certain activities due to safety reasons.
  • All lessor (s) must have valid photo ID and a major credit card.
  • There is no coming in and out of ride zone to switch riders.

Disclaimer:

You will get wet! Guests may even fall off. Guest should be physically able to pull themselves back up on the jet ski. Our Jet Ski Guides will give a full briefing of the boundaries and requirements.

It is recommended that guests wear shorts and shirt that can get wet.

***Note: Women who are pregnant may not participate. Participant with heart, lung or back problems may not participate. Anyone who have been drinking alcohol or under the influence of drugs may not participate*****

Guests should consider their physical fitness level and medical history when determining whether this ride is appropriate.  Participate with cardiac conditions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, other heart or respiratory conditions and/ or previous back or neck injury or any other medical condition should take particular caution when selecting this activity.  Guests who have concerns should consult with their personal physician before engaging in any activity that may be strenuous for them.

Frequent asked questions ( FAQ)

FAQ1. What are the age requirements to rent, drive or ride a jet ski?
answer. You must be 17 year of age or older with a picture ID to drive, 18 years or older to rent and  age 5 & up may ride. Government issued photo ID must have picture and birth date to verify age.  Almost 17 years of age is not qualified!!!!!!!!!!!.!!!!!!!  

A boater permit is not necessary.  Everyone will watch a safety video and again, even if you have a boater permit from another state to operate a Jet Ski.

FAQ2. Can I jump off the jet ski and swim?
answer. No, you cannot jump off the jet ski and swim in the riding area. Insurance does not allow anyone to jump off and swim, also for your safety you are not allowed to swim in the area, due to other jet skis that may run you over if you jump off your jet ski.

FAQ3. Can we come back to the dock to switch riders?

answer.  There is no coming in & out from the ride zone.  However, you may switch drivers on the same ski  on the water, if you are eligible to drive.  No switching from one jet ski to another jet ski due to the State Law 100 feet rule.

Note: Reservation and Cancellation Policy

FAQ4. What is the reservation and cancellation Policy?
answer.

All reservations and sales are considered final and are non-refundable. Unfortunately, this includes arriving under the influence of drugs, alcohol or marijuana.  Suspected or believed to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or marijuana.  Arriving late, exceeding the weight limit, forgetting your ID, no shows, personal emergencies or personal mishaps.  

If the Company has to cancel the reservation due to inclement weather or any other reason, you may reschedule or receive a refund.  Weather cancellations and all other cancellations are determined only by the Company!  Weather must be inclement at our location at your specific scheduled time to receive a refund for weather cancellation. 

 

FAQ5. Do you provide instruction on how to kayak or jet ski?
answer. Yes, we provide instructions for both kayaking and jet skiing. No experience is required. Our company policy requires trained activity coordinators to provide safety instructions and training to everyone regardless of their experience.

FAQ6. How many people can ride on one jet ski?
answer. Our policy is two people max per jet ski.  Remember there is a safety weight of 275 lbs a person.  Max combined weight 400 lbs on a tandem / double jet ski.  No individual can exceed 275 lbs safety weight limit.  Regardless,  if you are on a single or double/ tandem Jet Ski.

FAQ7. What type of kayaks do your company use?
answer. We have sit-on-top Ocean Kayaks. We provide seats, paddles, life vests and paddle instructions with all adventures and tours.

FAQ8. Do you have life vests for pets?
answer. Yes, of course we have life vest for our four legged friends in all sizes, that are free for usage during the adventures or tours. We also have pets life vests for sale, if you want to take one home with you!!!

FAQ9. What major credit cards do you accept?

answer.  We accept all major credit card.

FAQ10. Do you allowed privates kayak to load at your dock?

answer.  No!!!! Private kayaks are not allowed to load or dock at our location.  Marina policies does not allow it for liability reasons, in additions we only have limited space for our kayaks and jet ski on the dock.
